-----COMPROMISING ART-----

The ob-art video gallery presents an exhibition of recent videos witch are characterized by the high degree of compromise of the authors. Social compromise, but also formal compromise, and even compromise with the culture. Between the firsts, there is the work "INFLADOR" of Kesler & Reich, where the gaseous spillage is denounced. They are not poured, they are injected. We are insufflating pollution as we inflate a wheel, to a vibrating rhythm. "STRANGE DEAD FLOWERS(…)" of Daniel Iturrizaga talks about the anorexia and assimilates it to the dead flowers. The message avoids the dogmatism and is wrapped in a neat optical-coloristic esthetics that causes an unforgettable visual effect. "DCANDANZE" of Pixel in Fact shows the devastated urban landscape; the ruins of the industrial production; the decay of the structures. It opposes the brutality of the industrial inheritance the delicacy of the dance. "CONTRACORRIENTE" of Oscar Berdullas poses the conflict of the individual and the society, so near to the artists. For a part the need to belong to the group, to integrate him. For another part the compulsion of the distinction, to stand out. In the same register, is produced "MENSAJE EXPLICITO" of Damián Pissarra. The publicity covers us and asphyxiates us. The proposal of broadcasting the executions is not far. Everything for the audience! Also in the same style, "TODAY(TOMORROW)" of Eduardo Alonso suggests the game of the human relationships, the need for the happiness, the stupidity of the interaction. A careful filming that sends us to the great Masters. "GENTE FEA" of Nomadreams also analyzes the marginality, in this case of the ugly people. The ugly people must be hide, to be disguised, to be excluded in a society that wants only beautiful people and young and svelte bodies. "SEAPAÑA" of Fran Blanes introduces us, in tone of humor, the opposition between the great art and the small art. The advertisement man, one of the great depravity of the consumer society, is the pontifex. "PLASTIC" of Laura Celada recreates the binomial dressed/naked. Here the dress is the oppressive embrace of an adhesive tape of which only can escape destroying it and suffering the laceration that it inflicts. "THE ENCOUNTER" of Fatima Tocornal is a compromise with the culture and with the dance. Created as a homage and a performance, the scenes of the great artist with her mother that draws her are plastic pure. And to finish three examples of appointment with the form, without forgetting the social: "BOXES" of Malaventura presents a virtuous and formalistic exercise with a great quality. Poetry and Plastic are mixed in a magnificent exercise... without forgetting the forests. "RETURN AT HOME" of Mar Garrido suggests a personal and minimalist exercise of the relationship of the human Beings... even if the evolutionary distance is enormous. "VANITAS" of Evaristo Benítez recreates a special pictorial space in which the Surrealism, accentuated by the atonal music, is associated with real pictures until to produce an own universe. ##Absence of dogmatism, hope in the future, compromise with the poetry and the plastic.
