Life is a process (a behaviour, as Butler would say in opposition to the usual essential positions). It is easy to alter the process. We can speed it up, slow it down, change course. We cannot reverse it. The entropy (disorder, chaos) of life is always increasing (thermodynamics and evolutionism don’t belong to the essential theories). It is up to us to speed the process up or to slow it down; to gobble life down or just taste it. In any case, in the end death awaits us, total chaos, definitive disorder.
